Very warm welcome to The Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course. Every season brings something different to The Roxburghe.
The end-of-year festivities are nearly upon us and we're already thinking of what needs to be done to make Christmas and New Year that bit special. Trouble is with all the stress of shopping, wrapping and planning,
quality time to hear yourself think is very much at a premium. That's why we're offering you a chance to escape
with our special offers and events, tailor-made to make you feel completely relaxed, rejuvenated and looking forward to the next few weeks before Christmas. A quick fix for this very demanding time of the year, your chance to take time out for a few hours before going back to the hustle and bustle of modern living.
As for every month, there is a lot happening at the Roxburghe Estate and in the area - enough to appeal to all tastes and indeed taste buds.
This winter, you will enjoy food freshly prepared by our (amazing!) new chef, Mark Swinney. Mark recently joined us from one of the top restaurants in the UK and we are delighted that he is now heading our team of culinary experts. Come and meet Mark at the hotel or at the monthly Kelso Farmers market where he shows us his cooking skills!
We hope you will enjoy reading this newsletter, and for guests staying with us over the months of November and December, we wish you a very pleasant stay. May the hotel become your own home while you are staying with us.

and event styling.
Although my job involves me in alot of interesting things

in someones special day.
This year I have opened a new trial room in Kelso
that I have nick named "The Pod".
The Pod is located on the first floor of 18 Bridge Street, Kelso and shares entry with collections by bridal

Winter at The Roxburghe Golf Course

Warm Up Your Engine for Winter Golf
Don't make your first bogey before you even tee off. Too many golfers don't stretch on frigid days because they're anxious to get under way. "Your body is like your car it takes longer to warm up when it's cold,".
I recommend stretching your lower back and hamstrings by gently bending forward.
To stretch your shoulders, grab the buggy with both hands and lean back. Do five repetitions of each, holding stretches for 15-30 seconds. A brisk walk around the car park or putting green will also help raise your heart rate. I look forward to seeing you in the Professional shop over the coming winter months.

News from Floors Castle - The Terrace Café & Shop
Floors Castle Kitchen has been beavering away producing yet more delicious cakes and treats. The new range promises to deliver something for all palates and includes a "delightful" Banana & Honey Loaf and a Coconut & Lime Cake.
Taking the incredibly popular Floors Castle Marmalade Chris, personal chef to the Duke and Duchess of Roxburghe, has created a Floors Castle Marmalade Cake which has already proven to be a hit. Of course, the old favourites - such as our scones and gingerbread - won't be going anywhere. All available in the Terrace Café and shop now.
Why not take the stress out of Christmas by ordering food straight from the Castle Kitchen? Every year Head Chef, Chris Percy-Davis, produces an order form with tempting starters, mains and desserts as well as the essential extra-large game pie and Christmas chutney. Order forms will be available in the Terrace Café from mid-November.
